With the latest trend today, many want to be an online freelancer. However, only a few get the chance to be one. Never lose hope. Enlist yourself to different training and be equipped. Someday, you'll get what you want.
It has always been my dream to become an online freelancer. I see this as a sort of work that doesn’t demand a lot of your time to do a particular task.
"Success is not final; failure is not fatal:It is the courage to continue that counts."
-Winston S. Churchill
In online freelancing, there is freedom. You’ve got to decide what nature of the project you’d want. You’ve got to pick the time you prefer to work. You’ve got to choose where you want to do one job. You’ve got the freedom to engage yourself in different activities. You got to enjoy your life while earning dollars.
I am very thankful to my friend, Arc Kevin S. Azuela. He was the one who informed me about this training. He sent me the link on Facebook telling me it would help me with online freelancing.
Immediately, I click the said link. Then pass my application. After taking the exam and doing the interview, I successfully pass the exam. Now, I am a scholar of the said training.
DigitaljobsPH training is a program handled by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). Its objectives are to help unemployed, underemployed, out of school youths, persons with disabilities, and even senior citizens to become employed online, especially in the rural area of the country. Through this, people can earn an income while staying at home and no longer moving into the big cities of the country like Manila, Cebu, and Davao. Hence, it helps lessen the number of unemployed citizens throughout the country.
Going back to my application for the training and after attending the orientation at Negosyo Center, Valencia City, I realized that this training is never an easy one. However, I see it as a challenge. Perhaps, this is one of those things that has peaked my desire. And that means I gotta do what I gotta do. Do my best and study as hard as I could.
At this moment, on our 8th day of training, I realize that I am so blessed being a scholar of this training. Most of the things I read on the internet when I applied for online jobs are discussed here in this training.
Digital marketing, SEO, and Wordpress are some of the jargon I encountered during my application. Thankfully, these are all introduced to us. Now, I dare say that I’m no longer ignorant of these. Plus, I have enough knowledge of these that could land me a job soon.
However, it wasn’t easy. I, together with my co-scholars, may have background knowledge about social media and computers, but, our modules are complex. For me, the modules demand more than just 14 days. Thankfully, our trainer, Gabriel Billones Jr., is very patient with us. He tends to our questions regarding the tasks at hand. He helps us complete our tasks correctly and promptly.
Right now, I’m feeling more excited about the coming lessons. Why? Because it will focus more on ourselves as online freelancers. I am very much positive that after this training, I will become equipped with the necessary skills in online freelancing. I’m even more positive that I will soon find a job online as we have optimized our social media profiles like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
I believe it is also a plus that they trained us in creating our website for free. That way, we can freely express ourselves through blogging.
Indeed this training is a very extraordinary opportunity, especially for those who want to become an online freelancer. If there will be another call within the city, I highly suggest you apply for it right away. Practice answering interviews and take grammar exams online. I tell you, it will help you a lot.
